Caring for Exotics

Some types of pet require specialist care and expertise, exotics is one of these. We have several vets in Brighton who have experience of exotics and who can help you with advice. If you’re new to exotics, they will be happy to talk with you about your chosen species to ensure it’s right for your lifestyle and that you can give it the care it needs. This will include habitat, care and diet.

Not many vets are happy to handle Tarantulas, Guy at Portslade confidently handled mine and offered practical advice on changing its diet to keep it healthy.”

Adam, Central Brighton

Most exotics need to be kept in environments as similar to that of their natural habitat as possible. You may need to buy heated vivariums, source natural materials for climbing or burrowing, manage the humidity of its habitat and provide live food. This can be expensive and time consuming, which is why some exotic pets aren’t recommended for beginners. If you’re new to exotics, give us a call first.
