Veterinary Nurses Qualifications
As one of the region’s leading veterinary groups, we make it our priority to deliver
the best possible pet care. Brighton, Shoreham, Rottingdean, Woodingdean and Portslade,
each of our five local surgeries feature modern diagnostic equipment and are equipped
for every eventuality.
As a recognised professional training centre for the Royal Society of Veterinary
Surgeons, trainee nurses join us to study for their NVQ in Veterinary Nursing. The
vocational course is run over 2 years and trainee nurses work 4 days a week in the
practice and study at college for one day a week. Over the 2 years they will produce
an assessed portfolio of work, and have yearly exams, including a practical examination
in their final year.

As well as educating trainee staff, we also hold regular external seminars on specialist
topics for qualified vets. These CPD seminars are held at our
Kemp Town surgery and count towards a vet’s Continual Professional Development.
Past topics have included Ophthalmology, Cardiology and Dermatology.
