I would like to nominate Ted the 13 year old Springer Spaniel for the Best Dog award as he is the most kind, lovely and delightful soul that you could ever wish to meet. I lost my job at the beginning of lockdown in March & have been unemployed since but he has kept me positive and given me the will to keep going through these difficult times. We walk around 5/8 miles everyday, in all weathers and it always makes both of us feel better to get out in the fresh air. Although advancing in age and suffering from arthritis, he continues to show boundless energy and enthusiasm for life, looking for any excuse to run on the beach after a ball, go for a swim (no matter what the weather) or saunter through the woods. His zest for life and his kindness shows no bounds and he is currently being the senior companion to a 14 week old miniature schnauzer and he is being patient in showing the energetic puppy the ways of the world 🙂 He is just a delight to be around and I love him to the moon and back and don’t know what I’d do without him.
I would like to nominate Paula & Andreas because to me they both show what excellent customer service and compassion should look like for staff in the veterinary profession. They both work excellently together to provide fantastic care for the animals in their care but also show immense compassion and understanding for the animals owners and both of these sit hand in hand together, normally in a very traumatic time. They provide owners with the facts and truth about the situation and the options available but they also understand the need so show empathy as the animal is a beloved member of the family. I could not have got through some of the saddest moments in my life with out the care that was shown to me by both Paula and Andreas, just 2 of the kindest people I have the pleasure of knowing.
