Looking for a community-based role with the support, expertise and energy of a larger practice?
Coastway Veterinary Group are looking to welcome a new member to our fabulous team to work across two of our lovely branches in East Sussex.
We’re a large, RCVS accredited practice boasting 5 fully equipped branch practices plus our large central Brighton hospital. We also run the region’s biggest emergency vet service.
Coastway Vets has been providing outstanding care to the region’s pets for 45 years and our fantastic team of passionate professionals is dedicated to excellence in veterinary medicine.
The Role:
We’re offering a full-time position (with flexible working considered) split between our Lewes and Woodingdean branches, situated only 8 miles apart.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a confident vet with excellent communication skills and the experience to run a branch independently. You’ll have the chance to shape and grow our client base while enjoying the backing of a larger, collaborative veterinary group.
This role provides variety, autonomy and is ideal for a vet who enjoys providing a warm, personal service and building strong client relationships.
** Salary – up to £60,000 dependent on experience**
Your Week at a Glance:
- 2–3 days at our Lewes branch – consulting and some routine operations
- 2–3 mornings at our Woodingdean branch – consulting only
- Every other Saturday morning at our Lewes branch
- 1:15 second on-call rota to support our night and weekend team
At both branches you will have sole charge and manage your own cases, offering independence but with the reassurance of a friendly wider team and support from our Brighton hospital when needed.
The Team:
At Coastway you’ll be part of our close-knit team who strive to ensure we deliver the best every single day!
We love to give back, and we actively engage with our local community and support various charities. Last year, our team organised a charity walk, cleaned a local park pond, participated in the Lewes raft race, joined the Pride parade, and launched a pet food bank collection.
We’re proud of our culture – and our Head Nurse sums it up perfectly:
“We are a small, friendly, supportive team.
There is a great team atmosphere which is appreciated by our lovely clients.
There is usually lots of laughter.”
The Area:
Our branches in the beautiful historic town of Lewes and the charming village of Woodingdean have a real sense of community. Nestled in the heart of the South Downs National Park and just a short drive from the vibrant City of Brighton and Hove, their location offers a fantastic blend of rural tranquillity and urban convenience.
There are great travel links from Brighton – with London only a one-hour train journey away and proximity to Gatwick airport.
