Well equipped surgeries
We’re fortunate to have high quality facilities across our veterinary hospital in Brighton and branches in Lewes, Portslade, Shoreham, Telscombe and Woodingdean.
These include our CT scanner, ultrasound machines, endoscopes, hospitalisation and ventilation equipment and in-house laboratory for diagnostic testing and wet biochemistry.

Coastway Vets are looking to welcome a passionate RVN to our friendly team at our Lewes branch.
We’re a large, RCVS-accredited practice with five fully equipped branches and our central Brighton Hospital, providing outstanding veterinary care to the region’s pets for over 45 years.
The Role
We’re offering a permanent position working average of 40 hours per week over 4 days at our Lewes branch.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic RVN who enjoys working as part of a close-knit team, delivering excellent patient care and building strong relationships with clients.
Your role will involve providing high-quality nursing care, supporting vets with consultations and procedures, and helping ensure the smooth running of the practice. Nurse clinics will be a key part of your role, giving you the opportunity to use your nursing skills to their full potential, support preventative healthcare and build lasting relationships with clients and their pets.
Your week at a glance:
A varied nursing role within our friendly Lewes team
Approx 40 hours per week
1 in 8 full weekends on call at our Brighton Hospital with the following Monday off in lieu
1 in 14 weeks 2nd on call (called only if needed)

The Role:
We’re offering a full-time position (with flexible working considered) at our Lewes branch.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a confident vet with excellent communication skills and the experience to run a branch independently. You’ll have the chance to shape and grow our client base while enjoying the backing of a larger, collaborative veterinary group.
This role provides variety, autonomy and is ideal for a vet who enjoys providing a warm, personal service and building strong client relationships.

Your Week at a Glance:
Consulting and some routine operations
Every other Saturday morning at our Lewes branch
1:15 second on-call rota to support our night and weekend team at our Brighton Hospital
At our Lewes branch you will work in sole charge, supported by 2 RVNs and a receptionist, managing your own cases with the reassurance of a friendly wider team and support from our Brighton Hospital whenever needed.
The Team:
At Coastway you’ll be part of our close-knit team who strive to ensure we deliver the best every single day.
Our Brighton Hospital is home to 17 day vets and 5 dedicated night vets. We have multiple certificate holders in ECC, medicine, surgery, cardiology, imaging, exotics and oncology, alongside a visiting ophthalmologist every two weeks and an orthopaedic surgeon twice a week. The vets are supported by 24 RVNs, a laboratory technician, stock manager, customer care manager and referral coordinator, meaning you’ll always have access to a wealth of experience and clinical support while enjoying the continuity and autonomy of branch practice at Lewes.
We love to give back, and we actively engage with our local community and support various charities. Last year, our team organised a charity walk, cleaned a local park pond, participated in the Lewes Raft Race, joined the Pride parade and launched a pet food bank collection.

There are great travel links from Brighton – with London only a one-hour train journey away and proximity to Gatwick airport.
The area also benefits from excellent transport links, with direct trains to London in around an hour and easy access to Gatwick Airport.

The role at a glance:
Salary: up to £57,000 per annum, dependent on experience
Hours: 40 hours per week
Working pattern: 4 days a week with a set day off each week
Weekends: 1:5 full weekends, with a day off in lieu
On-call: 1:15 weeks as second on-call

We are keen to welcome a new colleague to join our warm and friendly team based at our RCVS accredited, purpose-built Brighton Veterinary Hospital.
This part-time night role is focused on being part of our growing medicine and emergency team that manages the large caseload we see from our branches and subscribing practices.
We are looking for an experienced and approachable team player who has an active interest in Emergency and Critical Care.
About us:
Coastway Vets has been providing outstanding care to the region’s pets for 45 years and our fantastic team of passionate professionals is dedicated to excellence in veterinary medicine.
We have our large central Brighton hospital, plus 5 fully equipped branch practices and cover OOH for multiple other practices in the Brighton area.
Our Brighton hospital has 8 consulting rooms, dedicated cat, dog, exotic, isolation and day procedure wards. Three theatres, and prep areas, CT, dental suite and full inhouse lab with a dedicated lab technician.
Two dedicated hospital vets manage our hospitalised medical caseload during the day, and handover to the night team including RVN and Animal Nursing Assistant. We have a separate exotics team during the day, so the nights include the care of exotic inpatients.
Our team has multiple certificate holders and colleagues with a huge range of clinical interests and expertise, including referral services for orthopaedics, ophthalmology, advanced imaging, and exotics.
We are committed to continuing the further development of our team members, with ample opportunity for learning and development through dedicated in-house and external CPD.

About the role:
