Exotic pets
We understand that exotic pets require the right care and expertise. That’s why our experienced team of vets and vet nurses are on hand to provide services tailored to the pets in Brighton and beyond.
We run a dedicated exotics clinic from our veterinary hospital in Kemp Town, Brighton and have a wealth of experience within our team.

In-house exotic services from our veterinary hospital
At Coastway Vets, we offer care for exotic pets of all shapes and sizes. Our Exotics team is made up of three dedicated exotics vets and supported by a skilled nursing team.
Alongside medical and surgical care, our team offers expert husbandry and dietary advice to help owners keep their pets healthy at home.
Whether your pet needs a routine check-up or advanced treatment, you can rely on expert and compassionate care with the Coastway Exotics team.

Our exotic facilities
We have facilities designed to meet the needs of our exotic patients, such as:
- Separate, quiet wards (away from cats and dogs).
- Appropriate environments and temperatures with vivariums for reptile inpatients.
Our 24-hour hospital team monitors all inpatients throughout the night, to check on their progress.

Gold-standard rabbit care
We hold prestigious Rabbit Welfare Association and Fund (RWAF) gold-standard status, a huge achievement which means we’ve been recognised for our high standards of rabbit care and understanding of rabbit health and behaviour.
For more information, please visit the RWAF website.

Supporting injured wildlife
Our exotics vets are often called on to care for sick or injured wildlife, and we work closely with Sompting Wildlife Rescue, which is run by our senior veterinary nurse, and Gayle Foggon.
Our aim, wherever possible, is to treat, rehabilitate and eventually release animals back into the wild.
While we most commonly see seagulls and foxes, we’ve also cared for badgers, hedgehogs and peregrine falcons.
