After more than 20 years in the town, our Shoreham team is experienced in all types of pet care, including exotic pets and wildlife. Animal welfare is personal at Shoreham and it’s not uncommon for our staff to take injured wildlife home overnight to give them 24 hour care. Monty the badger was lucky enough to be bought to Coastway Shoreham when he was injured. A tiny, young cub, he caused quite a stir amongst staff and clients and everyone was sorry to see him go.
Of course, family pets are our priority and our experienced vets, first class facilities and dedicated staff enable us to give them the best possible care in Shoreham. We’re an accredited Cat Friendly Clinic with the ISFM which means that we offer a separate cat waiting area, have staff who are committed to the gentle handling of cats, understand how traumatic a visit to the vets is for cats and treat them accordingly.
Our private car park makes it easy to visit us and when you do you’ll be given a choice of vet by our friendly reception staff.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic we are currently not able to offer appointments for routine procedures. We are offering appointments for overdue dog and cat vaccinations, emergency neutering for dogs and cats if they live in multiple, same species households, and urgent appointments for sick or injured pets. Rabbit and ferret vaccinations are being done at our Brighton veterinary hospital and a limited number of emergency rabbit castrations are also available here and at our Telscombe surgery. Telephone appointments are available where appropriate.
If you have been booked in for an appointment at Shoreham, please call us from outside to let our receptionist know that you have arrived. Try to arrive on time as we are operating a ‘one in, one out’ policy for appointments to minimise the risk to clients and staff. When you call, our staff will let you know the plan for your appointment and they will come out to you when it’s your time to see the vet. All clients should bring a mask or face covering to their appointment as you may be asked to come inside to pay. Clients are still not allowed inside consulting rooms because of the need to socially distance and you may be asked to liaise with the vet via a phone. Requests for repeat prescriptions, parasite control and food, can be emailed to [email protected]
